One of the biggest hurdles I faced in my career was having to start all over. I decided to go in a direction that was the polar opposite. One of the biggest blocks in achieving success was not knowing where to focus 100% of my attention during the transition. After years of telling myself, I wasn’t educated enough, saying no one did what I do, there is no market, I can’t make money doing spiritual counseling and everything else in between, I just wanted to quit! Looking back, it was the lack of self-confidence and fear of failure, I was afraid.
Do you suffer from not knowing which career path to take?
Choosing a new career path can be challenging to be an entrepreneur, even an employee. After years of doing a particular job, our tendency is to get used to it! When you branch out, the opportunities can be overwhelming. If you are putting your energy into multiple buckets hoping your big break will happen, yet you can’t pay the bills, and you work tirelessly with no direction my advice– STOP EVERYTHING, and begin to meditate. Get clear on what is truly calling you.
- What are you passionate about?
- What magazines do you purchase?
- What drives you to jump out of bed in the morning?
- Ask your heart, ask your guides while meditating and listen.
- Act on it!

Once you have decided what direction to take, next decide what you want to accomplish? What do you want to experience? And what possessions do you want to acquire? In the journey from where you are to where you want to be is actually deciding. In other words, what does success look like? Quoted from Principle #3 “Decide What You Want” in – How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be The Success Principles
Now, if you are moving into being a teacher, thought leader or a public speaker, I believe most teachers are teaching things they either want to learn or have learned in their personal life. That is what happen to me. One of the ways I activated my passion for teaching, is I decided to host a series of events on success, and I used The Success Principles as my workbook. It’s was an ordinary event turned into a transformational self-healing and reveling group. People shared their fears, sacrifices, anger and during the event, they let go of the burden society to be successful. How ironic!
To be successful, you have to start from a place of understanding what your personal feelings of success are. Understanding personal feelings about a career move can be daunting.
The best advice I can give to you is if you are standing on the ledge–Jump! Do not wait five more years suffering. Do not over think it, act on it and find a mentor to help you.
